We have 3 Tips to help you prepare for Amazing HeadShots
1. Get enough rest!
Think about your Headshot right. Do you want to look well rested and convey a sense of competence or rather look tired, miserable with swollen eyes? You need to get enough sleep to be ready for your session. A prepared mind is a professional mind. Can you imagine hearing about someone and going on their website to only see a photo of themselves and you say to yourself.. wow they look tired! We need to avoid that. Your headshot is your very first impression… So make it a good one.
2. Grooming
You must feel great about yourself. We all know the feeling of just getting our hair cut or hair done. You walk out feeling looking like a million bucks right. That energy you want to bring at your session.
- Guys:
Guys should get a fresh haircut the day before. Not on the day of. Anything can go wrong at the barbers. We have all been nicked before. Another great reason why not to go the day of is time. Haircuts can take longer than expected. If you have a full beard, you can always trim up the stray strands of hair.
- Ladies:
Ladies should consider professional hair and makeup. Get glammed-up yet keep it simple and straight forward. Be yourself! Don’t over do it as this does more harm than good. Wear your hair as you would at work with a twist. Think about what you wish to convey about you! In the event that you need a hot where your hands are also in view, consider how your nails will be for the session.
3. Wardrobe
The most important part of your wardrobe is that you feel comfortable and confident in them. i.e If you don’t like tight fitting clothes, don’t wear them to the session as this could potentially bring up any insecurities you may have. When this happens it will show in your eyes and you will not enjoy the session. Dress the part. Say you are in the medical field, we recommend perhaps wearing your white coat. This makes it easy for people to understand what you are about right off the bat. Thus your first impression was exactly what it needed to be. Avoid outfits that are too busy with distracting prints or elements. What these do is cause confusion and distracts potential clients from your face. Jewelry should be kept at the minimum. Less is more.
Summary
If you follow these three easy tips we honestly believe you are fully ready and prepared to have your headshot taken. Headshots are how you set your self part and set the tone in the real world. We live in an age where everything is visual.
Why not look your best, right?
